If you’re looking for some fun and creative activities to do with your kids, we’ve got you covered! Here are five easy activities that will keep them entertained for hours.
Plant a garden
May is the perfect time to plant a garden. Not only is it easy to do, but your kids will have loads of fun digging in the dirt. Limited space? There are so many things you can use to plant in. Try using an old sandbox, colander, or even a 5-gallon bucket with holes drilled in the bottom. Fill it with potting soil and plant some kid-friendly foods like strawberries, cucumber or bush beans. Not only will your kids enjoy this activity but it will also teach them where food comes from.
Sidewalk Chalk with a Twist
Do your kids love sidewalk chalk? Mix it up with this twist! Have your kids create their amazing sidewalk creations then have them use a paint brush or spray bottle to “paint” the chalk off with water. Bonus: you don’t have to wash it off later.
Easy Bubble Foam
This sensory activity is so easy to make and your kids will have tons of fun with it.
What you’ll need:
Food coloring (optional)
Mix 1/2 cup water + 1/4 cup bubble bath for each small batch. For color, add a little food coloring then whip it with a hand mixer on med-high for one minute.
Toilet Paper Bird Feeder
Upcycle toilet paper roles by making a homemade toilet paper bird feeder.
Peanut butter (almond butter or vegetable shortening will work just fine too)
Popsicle stick or butter knife
Coat the outside of the toilet paper roll with the peanut butter using a Popsicle stick or butter knife. Roll it onto bird seed and tie with twine to a tree branch, bush or fence. Enjoy!
