Dr. Philip Worthington
Orthodontist
Dr. Philip Worthington grew up in Fairfax, Virginia, and received a Bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce. He then attended the University of Virginia School of Law and practiced as a corporate and securities attorney in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for two years.
After deciding that his passion did not lie in the practice of law, Dr. Worthington gained admission to the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry on a United States Air Force scholarship. Upon graduation from dental school, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Scott AFB in Illinois, and then practiced as a general dentist for four years at the David Grant USAF Medical Center at Travis Air Base in California.
After completing his active military service, Dr. Worthington moved to North Carolina to complete his orthodontic residency at the UNC School of Dentistry, receiving his Master’s degree. He loves the profession of orthodontics because of the opportunity it offers to connect with patients while working together to design beautiful smiles.
Dr. Worthington lives in Davis, CA, with his wife, Jamie, and their five children, Wade, Norah, Holland, Avy, and Mary Graham. Dr. Worthington continues to serve as a dentist in the Air Force Reserve at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, NC. In his free time, he enjoys traveling with family and watching college sports.
I became a dentist because:
I wanted to build relationships with patients and help them build self-confidence.
I love my community because:
The world is a better place when we can trust and rely on one another.
I chose to work with children because:
I love their creativity and optimism!
