Recently, the Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics Modesto team had the pleasure of hosting 23 high school students as part of a local Career Technical Education (CTE) program. These students are enrolled in a multi-year curriculum designed to provide technical and occupational knowledge while preparing them for post-secondary education and future careers.

During their visit, students were introduced to what a career in dentistry looks like in a real practice setting. They learned how clinical and admin teams work together, observed daily workflows, and explored the skills and education pathways that support careers in healthcare. Experiences like this give students the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.

A huge thank-you to our Kids Care team members who made the day such a success: Celena Hernandez, Denisse Corro, Stacy Rosario, Margarita Barragan, and Anastasia Reid. Their time, expertise, and willingness to share their experiences helped create a welcoming environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and engaging in meaningful conversations.

Our team’s impact became clear shortly after the visit. The next morning, the students’ teacher shared with our team that the bus ride back to school was filled with conversations about dentistry, and that interest in the field grew from zero students to five students now wanting to pursue a dental career. Moments like this highlight the impact that exposure, mentorship, and hands-on learning can have on young minds.

Kids Care Dental is proud to support CTE programs that empower students to explore career possibilities and build confidence in their future paths. Opening our doors to students is one way we invest in our community and help inspire the next generation of dental professionals.
